Google review link generator — one tap to five stars

Turn your Place ID into a link that opens the review form with the stars ready. No searching, no scrolling, no drop-off — plus the text and email templates that actually get answered.

Find yours with Google's Place ID Finder — search your business name, and the ID appears in the map marker. It usually starts with ChIJ.

Paste your Place ID above to generate the link and ready-to-send request templates.

Reviews are the local ranking factor you control most directly

You cannot easily change your proximity to a searcher, and you cannot quickly build a decade of domain authority. You can ask every customer for a review, starting today. That is why reviews are where most local businesses have the largest gap between current and achievable performance.

It compounds beyond the Local Pack. Review text tells Google which services you actually perform and which neighbourhoods you work in — signals no amount of on-page copy replicates, because they come from someone other than you. And when an AI assistant is asked to recommend a business in your area, review volume, rating and recency are a large part of what it weighs.

The bottleneck is almost never willingness. It is friction. Most satisfied customers would leave a review if it took thirty seconds and nobody had to explain how.

1

Ask at the peak

The moment the job is done and they are visibly pleased. Every day you wait costs you responses.

2

Remove every step

One link, straight to the form. Never "search for us on Google and scroll down".

3

Ask everyone

Screening for happy customers first is review gating and violates Google’s policies.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Google Place ID and where do I find mine?

A Place ID is the permanent identifier Google assigns to your business location. Unlike your business name or address it never changes, which is why review links are built from it. Find yours with Google’s Place ID Finder: search your business name, and the ID shows in the marker popup. Most start with "ChIJ".

Why not just send people to my Google Maps listing?

Because every extra step loses people. Sending someone to your listing means they have to find the reviews section, scroll, tap "Write a review", then wait for the form. A direct review link opens the star selector immediately. On a task most customers are doing as a favour, that difference is the difference between a review and no review.

Is it against Google’s rules to ask for reviews?

Asking is explicitly allowed. What is not allowed is offering anything in exchange — discounts, entries into a draw, free products — or review gating, which means screening people first and only sending the link to those who say they were happy. Ask every customer the same way, and never buy reviews.

Do reviews actually affect local rankings?

Yes. Review quantity, average rating, recency and velocity are all established local ranking factors, and review text gives Google keyword and service signals it cannot get anywhere else. Reviews also feed AI assistants: when someone asks an assistant for the best option in their area, review signals are a large part of what it draws on.

How often should I ask, and when?

Ask every customer, once, as close to the moment of satisfaction as you can manage — same day for a service call, within 24 hours for most other work. A steady trickle of reviews reads as more trustworthy to both Google and humans than thirty reviews arriving in one week and then nothing for a year.

Should I reply to reviews?

Reply to all of them, positive and negative. Google confirms it values businesses that respond, replies are visible to every future reader, and a calm, specific response to a bad review persuades more people than the review itself dissuades. Never argue, and never mention private details of the customer’s case.

A link fixes the friction.
A system fixes the pipeline.

Reviews are one input. Ranking in the Local Pack also takes a complete profile, consistent citations, location-relevant content and the technical basics working.
